Building work is now complete and already our new room is being used for Children’s Liturgy. We are also appreciating the expansion of our entrance area, allowing parishioners to gather and browse before and after Mass.
We are delighted to announce that the Parish has now raised £5,500 to provide a fresh water supply to St. Jude’s school. Fr. Vincent managed to complete the project before leaving for his new Parish.
Special thanks to our Children’s Liturgy group, who suggested the symbolic idea of parishioners filling small water bottles at home, with silver coins. This raised an incredible £440 which rounded off the project. Also thanks to two generous donations and several fund raising projects by parishioners, we achieved the total amount in little over a year.
Fr Vincent and the School are very grateful.
Thank you to all parishioners who purchased items from the Fairtrade stall last weekend. The money taken at the stall, combined with sales throughout August, amounted to £192. Your purchases really do make a difference and I am very grateful for your continued sup- port. The next full stall will be on the 30th of September, but as always please see me at mass if you want anything before then. Thank you.
Thank you for wanting to support the charity CHILDREN IN DISTRESS by filling a shoebox. There are plenty of shoeboxes with the relevant information and labels available this weekend as well as some starter packs to get the ball rolling. Further details from Ann Robinson or Tel: 0115 9374470.
Volunteers are needed to help with the annual parish Christmas Fayre which will be on Saturday 17th November 11am-1pm. The fayre is the main annual fundraiser of the parish. It has been running for the past 4 years in its current format.
We especially need counters on the day of Fayre, helpers to run the Raffle on the day, and more volunteers to support the organisers.
If you think you would be interested in helping please email the Parish office at; firstname.lastname@example.org
Please show your support, as we really need your help. It is only one day of the year!
We are urgently in need of items for our Charity Shop at Cotgrave. If you can help, please leave items at the church or the shop.
Unfortunately, due to laws and lack of space, we cannot take electrical items or large pieces of furniture.
The shop is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning 9.00am to 12 Noon.
Donations are very welcome.
Thank you to all those generous people who continue to support our Traidcraft stall.
Sales throughout July and from the last stall amounted to £205! Included in these sales were many items that were generously donated to the food bank and I can say that the Friary Drop in Centre were delighted and very grateful for our much needed help.
The next full stall will be on the 2nd of September.
