Nottingham Deanery Meeting
Proposed boundary changes for local parishes
The Nottingham Deanery proposed boundary changes that will see Holy Spirit , Our Lady of Grace, St Anne’s and St Margaret of Clitherow merge into one parish, and will mean the arrival of two new priests chosen by Bishop Patrick, as Fr. Franey is retiring at St Anne’s Radcliffe, and Fr. Michael is also retiring this year at our parishes.
Representatives of all parishes attended the meeting last month. The next meeting will at St Margaret Clitherow Church, Keyworth, on Monday 25th April 7.30pm

Children’s Liturgy Group
We are delighted to be offering children’s Liturgy sessions again at our 11 o’clock mass each Sunday during term time.
If your child is of school age and happy to leave mum or dad to come and join our little group please collect a permission slip from Karen before mass.
If you are able to assist with our group by leading one session each half term please do shout out!
Please note: Face coverings are still recommended by the Diocese in church, despite the government lifting all Covid restrictions, as a community we still need to protect each other from the virus.
We continue to work to a reduced seating capacity of 60 seats. Booking is not required. Hand sanitising and social distancing is still in operation.
Diocesan Participation in the Synodal Process
‘This October Pope Francis formally opened a two-year process called “a synod on synodality,” officially known as “Synod 2021-2023: For a Synodal Church.” In brief, the process involves an expansion of an established institution, called the “Synod of Bishops.” This means that bishops around the world will consult with their Parishes asking questions for their parishes to consider.
Bishop Patrick McKinney wrote to pastoral letter to all parishes in our Diocese to ask them how parishes can contribute to the Synodal Process.
Here are the suggested questions the Diocese would like Parishioners to answer. please download the form (click here).
Confirmation and Bishop’s Visit
On September 23rd, Our Lady of Grace Church welcomed a number of young people and their families from across both parishes to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. Preparation took a more unusual format this year due to the Covid restrictions, but the catechists and young people worked hard to ensure that they were ready to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We were delighted to welcome Bishop Patrick to Cotgrave for this special occasion. Whilst here, he blessed the grotto dedicated to Our Lady, as well as the recently-built community room.
It was a wonderful evening of celebration, filled with hope for both our parish and the young people, as they navigate the journey towards a deeper relationship with God. Our prayers are with them.
First Holy Communion Enrolment
Children from Year 4 above are invited to enrol on the First Holy Communion Programme. Forms are available in church this weekend or to download from our website (click here for the Enrolment Form, and click here for the Programme). The forms should be return on Sunday 21st November.
There will be an Induction meeting for parents on Tuesday 23rd November 7pm at the Holy Spirit Church.
